Norwegian Forest Cats roamed the Nordic forests for over 1,000 years and are referred to, in Norse mythology, as the giant cats who pulled the chariot of the Goddess Freya. They were known as Viking cats and their intelligence, hearty body structure, long and protective double-thick coats enabled them to survive in the wild through the frigid Scandinavian Winters. This ancient natural breed makes a loving companion who thrives as a family member. Kashi Saga Norwegians come from the finest of International and National Bloodlines, Worldwide Winners and are CFA registered. Our kittens are raised underfoot in our home and given a lot of personal attention and love. All Kashi Saga breeding cats are descendents of our foundation cat, Pirate, honored as the Norwegian Forest Cat who established the presence of the breed in the United States.
